General Notes:
Lady Isabel Mowbray, born abt. 1396 married firstly Henry, son and heir of William, 5th Lord Ferrers of Groby and had an only child Elizabeth, heiress of Groby born 1419.
She married secondly James, 6th Lord Berkeley abt. 1423 at Berkeley, Gloucestershire. They had sons, the first being William b.1426 who became 7th Lord Berkeley and whom Edward IV made a viscount in 1481 and Richard III advanced to the Earldom of Nottingham, and Henry VII promoted to be the Earl Marshal and Marquess of Berkeley.
William de Berkeley died 14 Feb 1490/91 and was succeeded as 8th Lord Berkeley by his brother Maurice b.abt.1435 and died Sep 1506, who married in 1465 Isabel Mead, daughter of Philip Mead, Mayor of Bristol. Their children were Anne m. Sir William Dennis; Maurice b. 1469 and 9th Lord Berkeley until his death 12 Sep 1523; and Thomas b. 1472 and 10th. Lord Berkeley until his death 22 Jan 1532/33.
Further children of Isabel and James were: iii. James de Berkeley who married Joan Strangeways and died 1490/91; iv. Thomas de Berkeley who married Margaret Guy and died 1484; v. Isabel de Berkeley who married William Tyre.
Isabel died 27 September 1452 and her husband James (born abt 1394) died Nov 1463.
Isabel married Sir Henry Ferrers, son of William Ferrers 5th Baron Groby and Philippa de Clifford. (Sir Henry Ferrers was born in 1394 106.)
Isabel next married Sir James Berkeley 6th Lord Berkeley, son of Sir James Berkeley and Elizabeth Bluet, in 1424.22 (Sir James Berkeley 6th Lord Berkeley died in Nov 1463 22.)
