ST. LOUIS, Oct. 10. --Frank Meakin, globe trotter, hunter, and amateur explorer, whose uncle was knighted by Queen Victoria, and in company with Frank Meakin's father established one of the biggest chinaware concerns in the world, was buried in St. Matthew's Cemetery last evening after his body had been taken from the dissecting room at the Marion Sims Beaumont Medical College of St. Louis University.
Meakin died without proper identification, and his body was given over to the Anatomical Board. He was a member of one of the best known families in England. For years he had wandered over the earth. It was only by chance that that he came to St. Louis, where his half brother, William L Meakin, an agent for chinaware concerns , is in business.
Frank Meakin's body was in the Medical College when William L Meakin learned of his presence in St. Louis. Meakin was taken to the City Hospital June 22, fatally injured from a fall from a window where he was boarding. 214
