Job Ridgway 92,93
Apprenticed to a potter in Swansea. Returned to Staffs c1780, then moved to Leeds for c2 yrs. Came back to Hanley and c1782 took over the Bell Works, Shelton with brother George. Partnership ended in 1802 and Job built Cauldon Place Pottery. Partner in Bellevue Pottery, Hull, 1802-4, then again with brother George from 1806. Founder member of Methodist New Connexion in Hanley in 1797 @ Chapel Fields. 93 Job married Elizabeth Mayer on 25 Mar 1785 in Newcastle Under Lyme, Staffordshire.92 (Elizabeth Mayer died on 2 Apr 1810 in Cauldon Place 92.) |
