From Robyn Arkinstall:

I can find no trace of George in the 1851C and believe that a possible death for George Meakin from Ancestry.co is - Mar Qtr 1844 - St.George Sq. London - Cert no. 1 26. In the census Elizabeth (50)*, Adam (20) & Thomas ( 9) are enumerated back in London, but there is no sign of George and the other children. They definitely weren't shown in the 4 enumerated districts of Caverswall area either.

I believe Adam married in Lambeth in the Jun Qtr of 1851, and I can't find any further trace of him, in the census records, so he could have left the country. Thomas married firstly in the Sept Qtr 1868, and then when his wife Adelaide died in 1871 he remarried in 1875, and was a successful Real Estate Auctioneer in London and had several mentions in "The London Times". He died on All Saints Day 1918 at Anerley, London.
According to Free BMD's Elizabeth Elliott Meakin died at Croydon, Surrey in the March quarter of 1874. I believe I know where Elizabeth fits in to the Arkinstall family, because of her son Adam's middles names \endash Uriah Bryant which was a family name on her side of the family, but the Elliott mention as her own middle name has me stumped, but also looks like a family hand-me-down like George Elliott Meakin's was from his mother's maiden name.

* However in the 1851 return Elizabeth is shown as married (DAR).
